McCall, located in the town of Cutchogue, focuses on crafting low yield, quality-driven wines. With the largest Pinot Noir vineyard on Long Island, and an equally sized vineyard of Merlot, it has produced wines reaching critical acclaim. The vineyards were planted in 1996 throughout land the McCall family has lived on for generations. The rustic and charming tasting room, found on a welcoming lawn with pastoral views, was once as a storage barn for potatoes.

Under the threat of development and removal in the 1990’s, Russell McCall partnered with the Peconic Land Trust to save the heritage farm and surrounding woodlands. Then, defying convention, selected the finicky Pinot Noir and the challenging Merlot grapes. McCall has been committed to quality and sustainability since it released its first wines in 2007. It received the distinction of becoming Long Island’s first wind-powered farm in Long Island in 2010. Since then, it has continued innovating, expanding into organic ranching. Grazing grass-fed cattle create picturesque detail amongst rows of grape vines.
