Long Island Wine Council Mission and Purpose
Mission: The Long Island Wine Council is an industry association dedicated to achieving recognition for Long Island as a premium wine producing region. Its role is to provide a coordinated effort for the promotion and development of the region's wine industry. The Council was founded in 1989 and currently has 48 full members.

Purpose: The Long Island Wine Council unites Long Island wineries in a collective effort to create and promote a world-class wine region, while striving to preserve a way of life built on local pride and a vibrant community economy. The wineries are crucial to retaining the East End’s open space and farming heritage, ensuring that our land will remain in agricultural production for future generations. When you support Long Island Wineries, and the Long Island Wine Council you support the entire region!
