T’Jara Vineyards was born out of a vision to create world-class wines by showing the best of what Long Island has to offer.

And it all starts with great fruit.

T’Jara Vineyards is located on prime farming land on the North Fork in Mattituck. From its inception, Winemaker Russell Hearn and his partner Jed Beitler had the goal of making T’Jara Vineyards to be a top fruit producer and, when the time was right, release some of the best red wines on the East End of Long Island. For over a decade, our 20 acres have supplied red vinifera to some of the top wineries on Long Island, New York State, the Northeast and Canada. As we knew we would eventually be making wine from our own fruit, our philosophy has always been to “grow wine on the vine.” We employ sustainable practices, including organic composting, to the care and management of our vines.

From an exceptional 2007 growing season, Russell and Jed released their first limited production, handcrafted T’Jara wines: a Merlot and a Red Reserve Blend. And, with the 2010 vintage, they have expanded the line of T’Jara wines to include a Cab Franc and a Petit Verdot.

Enjoy the rich, supple reds of T’Jara Vineyards and see why what’s grown on the vine makes all the difference when it goes in the bottle.

BOE works to bridge the creative culinary, agricultural and art worlds by crafting award-winning regional wines from NY State grapes, and by displaying the work of New York City artists on our bottle labels.

Brooklyn Oenology wines are sold in over 150 stores and restaurants around NYC and beyond, and BOE has received a strong response from many arts and culinary organizations as well.
We craft premium wines representing New York’s unique climates and soils. Based on the North Fork of Long Island, the grapes that grow in our maritime climate lend themselves to producing distinctive wines. Also, highlighting the best of the Finger Lakes region we work with upstate growers, sourcing fruit.

Combining new world technology and old world traditions we focus on accentuating the full expression of the wine grown in this place. We make wines with minimal additives and manipulation, unadulterated and straightforward, with honest marketing and labeling to allow our wines to shine their best on their own.

Perched on a rise overlooking the lush vineyards to the east and the gently rolling Hamptons landscape to the west, Wölffer Estate Winery is unquestionably one of the most beautiful and stylish on Long Island. Rivaling European wineries, the rustic, Tuscan-style building with its warm ochre walls, houses a lavish tasting room with imported stain glass doors, an expansive portico and underneath is the state-of –the-art winery – an appropriate foundation for the world class Wölffer wines created and nurtured by winemaker Roman Roth. . Known for its highly popular dry Rosé (“Summer in a Bottle” ), Wölffer Estate wines embody the region and reflect a classical style of winemaking, with a rich concentration of fruit and lively acidity.

The winery’s tasting room is the site of the popular Twilight Thursdays in the spring and fall, and Candlelight Fridays in the winter – both events have live music and wines by the glass. Also, located on Montauk Highway, the Wölffer Wine Stand’s Sunset Fridays are “the place to be” from 5PM to sunset.

The Old Field Vineyards is Long Island’s easternmost vineyard and winery on the North Fork, situated on Southold Bay of the Peconic Bays one mile east of Southold’s village center. Established in 1974, The Old Field Vineyards is Long Island’s oldest continuously run vineyard by the same family. Christian and Rosamond Baiz with their daughter Perry Weiss have thoughtfully developed their vineyard and wines to be a model of “sustainable” agriculture. They grow and produce both Burgundian and Bordeaux winegrapes and wines, from Pinot Noir and Chardonnay to Merlot and Cabernet Franc. Under daughter Perry’s direction, The Old Field Vineyards is adding Sauvignon Blanc to their winegrape portfolio with new plantings beginning in Spring 2008.

The Old Field, an agricultural area east of Southold, was farmed by Native Americans for nearly two thousand years prior to the arrival of the “first settlers” from Europe in 1640. Since 1918, Christian Baiz’s maternal ancestors continued to farm The Old Field. At the advent of vinifera wine growing on Long Island, Christian led The Old Field’s redirection from the Long Island potato to the new agricultural paradigm of Long Island wines. Today, Ros, Perry, and Chris enjoy welcoming wine seekers to The Old Field for its wines, its pastoral and maritime beauty, and feathered barnyard entertainment. A visit is worth ten thousand words of enjoyment.

Experience and quality are key words in the wine world, and The Grapes of Roth wines are well versed in both. Winemaker Roman Roth’s signature label focuses on two varietals, Merlot and Riesling, and has raised the bar in both categories.

The 92 point Parker-rated Grapes of Roth Merlot has all the complexity and concentration of the great Right Bank Bordeaux wines. Lush plum and cherry fruit drive the wine on a solid structure that opens to a long and memorable finish. What differentiates this wine from other fine Merlots is the elegant illustration of terrior; the wine has a sense of place that makes it unique among celebrated reds. This is a beautiful wine.

German winemakers have a penchant for Riesling, and The Grapes of Roth is pleased to present three outstanding wines. The 2009 Grapes of Roth Riesling is perfect for any celebration, special occasion, or romantic dinner. Especially food-friendly, the wine opens with a lush apricot nose, then elegantly shows rich melon balanced by hints of flint and lime. It is a dry Riesling according to the guidelines of the International Riesling Foundation, yet is fully saturated with flavor and character. The finish is long and exotic, reminiscent of the world’s best Rieslings.

Taking it one step further is The Grapes of Roth Virgin Riesling, produced in extremely small quantities from pristine seedless berries that were hand selected in the vineyard. This time consuming process is not without reward, resulting in a remarkable wine with concentration, elegance, vibrancy, and length.

The fourth wine in The Grapes of Roth portfolio is The Nobel Roth, a Trockenbeerenauslese Riesling, created in pursuit of being the perfect dessert wine. The goal is lofty, but this wine exceeds all expectations. Honey, pineapple, and ripe peach flavors play against hints of minerality. The wine is complex, but once in your glass it becomes a total hedonistic experience.

If you love great wine, The Grapes of Roth is an essential component in your cellar.

Suhru Wines is a family owned and operated brand, which released its first vintage in 2009. All Suhru wine is produced on the North Fork of Long Island. Started by SUsan Hearn, with her husband RUssell as winemaker, the brand name and product have come to life.

Unlike long established wine labels, Suhru™ is unhampered by tradition and winemaker Russell Hearn creates young, innovative, and vibrant wines. Influenced by his international experience and three decades of winemaking on Long Island, Russell’s ideas showcase the unique characteristics of New York grapes.

Susan Hearn, owner, originally a Physical Therapist, developed an interest in wine after marrying her husband, Russell, who has been making wine for over 30 years. His interest in wine quickly grew into something they both enjoyed. The two have toured the wine regions of France, Germany, Italy, Portugal, Australia, New Zealand, California, Virginia and New York, gathering knowledge and experience that is poured into every glass of Suhru Wines. Their joint love of wine, and Susan’s passion for wine has given rise to this new and exciting brand.

Suhru Wines produces five innovative new wines, which include a Shiraz and Shiraz Rose, drawing on winemaker Russell Hearn’s Australian background to produce the only Shiraz on Long Island. Suhru Wine aims to provide a fresh take on common wine varietals, resulting in easy to drink, fruit forward, exciting wines.

Tom recalls having found true love with Cynthia over a romantic dinner and a seductive bottle of Champagne. Fate brought Cynthia and Tom to meet Steve Mudd, a renowned and award winning viticulturist on the East End of Long Island, who immediately sparkled the bright idea of dedicating the first ever planting of a new vineyard to the sole production of sparkling wine. Having spotted the perfect site for their venture, Cynthia and Tom contacted the owner of the property and placed a down payment the same day on what would become the future vineyard site. Teaming with Gilles Martin, a talented winemaker with international experience, they designed the grape composition of their vineyard, which contains the exclusive blends of Sparkling Pointe’s cuvées. Only the finest varieties were chosen, those which made the celebrity of the Champagne region: Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier and Chardonnay, all rooted in this breezy terroir of the North Fork of Long Island.

Established in 1996, Sherwood House Vineyards is committed to the production of world-class wines using only estate-grown vinifera grapes. Owners Dr. Charles Smithen and wife Barbara believe that producing fine wine is a combination of passion and patience, handcrafting their wines using traditional methods combined with the latest scientific techniques. “There’s very little nature and man can do in true harmony,” says Dr. Smithen. “A vineyard is one of those things. Making wine requires both science and art to excel. Anyone can learn the science. But it’s the art, the near-intuitive understanding, the smell, sense, and feel, that makes the difference.”

Gilles Martin has been Sherwood House’s winemaker since its inception. Gilles received his Master of Oenology degree from France’s prestigious Universite Montpellier I and went on direct production at more than a dozen prominent wineries in France, South America and California before settling on Long Island in 1996. During Martin’s years as head winemaker at Delas-Freres, in France’s Rhone Valley, he directed the production of such prestigious wines as Hermitage, Crozes-Hermitage, Chateauneuf du Pape, and Condrieu. While at Roederer Estate in California, Gilles trained the staff in the traditions of Methode Champenoise, and helped to produce three wines rated as the best sparkling wines ever crafted outside the Champagne region. In 2011, his 2008 Sherwood House Vineyards Chardonnay received a “Best in Class” and 91 points at the Los Angeles International Wine Competition, firmly cementing Sherwood House Vineyards as one of the premier producers both on Long Island and internationally.

On their 38 acre farm, the Smithen’s initially planted Chardonnay vines from Burgundian clones, but after careful research and planning, have since added Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot. Sherwood House currently produces a Stainless Steel Fermented (un-oaked) Chardonnay, Barrel Fermented (oaked) Chardonnay, Blanc de Blanc (sparkling), White Merlot, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Bordeaux-style red blend.

Sherwood House has two tasting rooms: a small, quaint outdoor facility that sits on the vineyard property in Mattituck and a larger indoor/outdoor facility on the Main Road in Jamesport that includes a renovated 1860′s farmhouse, fireplace, deck and event barn.

Although we make only 500 cases a year – barely enough to satisfy the Scarola clan! – you can enjoy our wines at fine restaurants and wine shops in the New York City/Long Island area and by purchasing them on this site. Each bottle represents the Scarola tradition of family, friendship, and good taste.

Roanoke Vineyards is dedicated to making exquisitely-crafted, quality wines. Our production is extremely limited, and since Roanoke wines are only available in our Tasting Room, or from our website, we have no imposed production quotas, and no obligations to distributors, restaurants, or retailers. This allows us to do our work in the vineyard and the cellar without limits on our creativity. There should be no limitations when it comes to making the best wine for you.

Roanoke Vineyards is also the leader in wine-focused programming. You won’t find a seventies revival band in our Tasting Room, but what you will find are exciting events like the Winemakers’ Smackdowns, The Judgment of Riverhead, and our Winemakers’ Roundtable where you’ll meet great winemakers from around the country, and get a chance to taste their 90 plus-point wines.

The New York Times said “Roanoke has mastered Cabernet Franc”, and our Gabby’s Cab Franc is the highest Parker-rated Cab Franc on the Atlantic Seaboard. Our western location positions us out of the fog zone, yet fully exposed to the southwesterly sea breezes, allowing us to fully ripen Cabernet Sauvignon without disease pressure. Chardonnay vines we planted in 1983 repeatedly deliver extremely concentrated fruit that we use for The Wild!, our highly regarded wild ferment Chardonnay. Roanoke’s exciting red blends serve as the creative platform for winemaker Roman Roth, and these high-scoring gems have proven themselves in head-to-head tastings with great wines from California and Bordeaux.

We can’t offer you a pony ride, but Roanoke will show you some of the best wine you’ve ever had; and we do it just for you.

Raphael was born from the vision of owner John Petrocelli Sr. of Huntington, New York, who named the winery in honor of his father. Raphael Petrocelli was an avid home winemaker, as was his father before him. John Petrocelli learned the pleasures of making wine from his father and grandfather in New York and continues the family tradition on the North Fork of Long Island. John Petrocelli is also the owner of J. Petrocelli Construction, Inc., a specialist in fine architectural design and construction. The Petrocelli family prides itself on attention to detail and fine craftsmanship.

Utilizing over 30 years of local experience, the Petrocelli’s have planted their estate with what they believe to be Long Island’s best wine grape varieties. As in the great European tradition, they believe quality comes from specialization and a commitment to an ideal. At Raphael, this philosophy is carried out in all aspects of the winery, from the beautiful, Mediterranean styled building to the meticulous vineyard and the handcrafted wines. The first vines were planted in 1997 and 1998 by North Fork vineyard pioneer Stephen D. Mudd of Mudd’s Vineyard in Southold, NY. The first wine production at the new facility began with the 1999 vintage.

Located on the North Fork of Long Island, the maritime influence of the surrounding water provides a moderate climate allowing our grapes to fully ripen, achieving perfect balance, aroma, and flavor. Raphael’s philosophy is that wine is grown, not made, and combines the best of centuries-old tradition with scientific progress. Raphael wines are produced sustainably, resulting in wines that purely express our local terroir.

Pindar Vineyards was founded in 1979 by the entrepreneurial Dr. Herodotus “Dan” Damianos. Starting off with just 30 acres of uncultivated land in Peconic on the North Fork of Long Island, Dr. Damianos envisioned grand possibilities for his fledgling vineyard, named after the Hellenic poet from Sparta. His dream is being realized as the expanding Pindar currently encompasses nearly 550 acres of prime viticultural property, making it Long Island’s largest vineyard.

Pindar, the oldest winery on Long Island under continuous family ownership, is run by Dr. Dan and his three sons, Alex, Jason (Winemaker), and Pindar (Vineyard Manager). Pindar takes meticulous care in producing its wines and today the name has become synonymous with quality and reliability.

In 1982 Bob and Joyce Pellegrini set out to make the very best wine that the North Fork of Long Island could offer. Today, Pellegrini Vineyards produces an award-winning range of wines. Bob Pellegrini’s commitment to design is evident in everything he does. A Manhattan based graphic designer, he devoted nearly a year in planning the winery construction. The state-of-the-art facility combines the best of modern winemaking technology and Pellegrini’s own aesthetic sensibility. Its creation marked the culmination of Pellegrini’s lifelong appreciation for fine wine and food. Our winemaker, Tom Drozd, combines traditional and contemporary methods with a focus on varietal character.

Over the years, Pellegrini Vineyards gained a reputation for innovative techniques. The winery was the first on Long Island to utilize the gentle punch-down methods during red fermentation, the first to monitor and control moisture levels in the vineyard, and the first to implement a two-barrel aging process for red varietal bottlings.

Robert Palmer founded Palmer Vineyards in 1986 on a rolling parcel of gravelly farmland in Riverhead on the North Fork of Long Island. Since then, Palmer Vineyards has become a significant part of the Long Island wine industry. This reflects the efforts of the Palmer team as it strives to uphold Bob Palmer’s pledge of quality. “I’ve got to be careful,” Palmer says. “My name is on every bottle.” Each staff member contributes a unique factor, much the same as a winemaker selects the best of various lots to craft a special blend.

The fine seaside climate and soils of Long Island’s North Fork provide exceptional conditions for making world-class varietal wines. With more than 90 acres planted with Merlot, Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc, Sauvignon Blanc, Gewürztraminer, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Cabernet Franc to supply the winery’s 16,000 annual case production, Palmer strives to preserve and enhance the purity of flavor and distinctive, fresh character which make the region’s wines so unique. Palmer operates a state-of-the art winery and each year purchases substantial new French oak cooperage for both barrel fermentation of its Chardonnay and the aging of its premium red varietals.

Growing up on her family’s farm in Calabria, Italy, Claudia assisted in growing wine grapes and vegetables and raised small animals from a very young age. Her father Domenico, taught her to value the land, the fruits it provided and the satisfaction found in working hard with purpose in mind.

After moving to Long Island and spending several years in the restaurant industry, Claudia decided it was time to “return to her roots”. On the North Fork of Long Island, Claudia continues Domenico’s traditions on her 16 acre farm and vineyard. The vineyard has been hand-planted and meticulously tended to by Claudia’s exacting touch. She labors to produce the highest quality fruit and the superiority of her work is evident in each of the wines made from her vineyard. A few sips will lead you to appreciate what one woman’s labor of love can produce.

The 18 year-old vineyard is part of a larger, historic farm owned by the Anderson family. Today, the property encompasses over 180 acres of fertile fields, meadows, and forests as well as over a mile of bay and creek frontage. It is a wondrous, peaceable kingdom of great horned owls, deer, osprey, herons, and shorebirds. Striped bass, bluefish, and flounder abound in the tidal creeks and the deeper bay.

The Anderson family is committed to the artisanal wines of Onabay Vineyards. Proud of their stewardship of the land, they appreciate the extraordinary natural beauty and bounty of the North Fork, and its culture of great wine, cuisine, and people.

Brad Anderson is committed to producing high quality vintages with the help of Bruce Schneider, international wine consultant, and Steve Mudd, veteran North Fork viticulturist. Francesca Anderson is a renowned botanical artist. Her drawings of herons appear on the front labels. Daughter, Mia C. Anderson’s poems also grace the labels. She is a published poet of natural history themes and the environment.

Chiara Anderson Edmands oversees the marketing of Onabay Vineyards. She and her husband, Ben, delight in pairing wine with the delicious bounty of the North Fork.

Two generations of Andersons are committed to artisanal winemaking. With their dedication and diverse talents, they create exceptional wines. A taste of this paradise “on a bay.”

With Long Island’s largest vineyard of Pinot Noir, and an equally sized vineyard of Merlot, McCall focuses on crafting low yield, quality driven wines. The vineyards (planted in 1996) and surrounding farm can be found in the town of Cutchogue, where the McCall family has lived for generations. Their rustic tasting room, once a barn for potato storage, sits on the property with a welcoming lawn and charming pastoral feel.

Russell McCall partnered with the Peconic Land Trust to save the farm and surrounding woodlands from the threat of development in the 1990s. Once saved, McCall planted vineyards in the fields once used for corn and potatoes, defying convention and going with the finicky Pinot Noir grape on the southern end of the farm. He then waited to make his own wine until the vineyards reached maturity, and the time was right.

Committed to quality and sustainability, McCall released his first wines in 2007. Since, they have found their way to critical acclaim. They can be seen on the wine lists of a handful of upscale restaurants in New York City and on the East End. In 2010, McCall Wines became the first wind-powered farm in Long Island, blazing the trail for many other local farmers. In the same year, McCall began ranching organic grass-fed cattle, which can be seen grazing in the fields alongside his vineyards.

Mattebella Vineyards is a small family farm, located in the State of New York’s oldest town, Southold (established in 1640), on the eastern end of Long Island. Our single vineyard is a gently sloping 22 acre parcel of land located on the Main Road (Route 25 on the North Fork of Long Island). Our vineyard has predominantly European clones of grape varietals, tight spacing (6×3), and low vigor rootstock.

The crafting of our wines begins in the Vineyard. At Mattebella Vineyards we do things the old fashion way, by hand. We do not use mechanical harvesters or leaf removal equipment. Fine wines are difficult to make consistently if mechanized harvesters and other machines are introduced into the process. Machines simply cannot execute our commitment to quality and make the decisions we consistently must make throughout the growing season. Our hand crafting includes fruit thinning to ensure even ripening and higher quality concentrated juice, leaf pulling, weed removal, pruning, canopy management and, importantly, hand harvesting of all our fruit.

Mattebella Vineyards is committed to using sustainable viticulturural practices, while incorporating as many organic practices as possible into our farming methods. We seek to find new solutions to old problems by maximizing the health of the vineyard. In committing to a healthy, responsible approach, we hope to make a footprint in your memory but not on the environment.

The story of Martha Clara Vineyards begins with Robert Entenmann, grandson of William, who founded the world renowned Entenmann’s Bakery in Brooklyn back in 1898. After running the prosperous family business for many years, Robert moved on to another chapter in his life and headed east to the North Fork to start up a thoroughbred horse-breeding farm. He soon realized his land was well-suited for grape growing.

The vineyard is named after his mother, Martha Clara, who was the support system behind the bakery, tirelessly ensuring the quality of the family’s products. The family farm is now home to 112 acres of vines. Horses still do appear onsite, carrying guests through the farm on a guided carriage ride. Expect to see sprawling fields of wildflowers and sunflowers. Animal lovers will enjoy llamas, alpaca, goats, baby doll sheep, peacocks and Scottish Highland cattle, some of which were lovingly rescued. The vineyard also plays host to art exhibits, cooking demonstrations, film festivals and benefit concerts which have featured Jimmy Cliff, Mary Wilson and Jimmy Buffett.

Though Macari Vineyards was established in 1995, the Macari Family has owned the 500 acre waterfront estate for nearly 50 years. Since its inception, Macari Vineyards has been at the forefront of sustainable agriculture, employing principles of biodynamic farming to restore the terrestrial ecosystems. Joseph Macari, Jr. and his team use a restorative process that includes priming the soil, little or no pesticides, composting, and charting farming activities according to the lunar calendar—taking into account the rhythmic influence of the sun, moon, and stars. This respectful regard for the earth yields a farm that is environmentally balanced and sustainable withincreased plant and animal biodiversity that promotes the health, vitality, and nutritive value of plants. Macari’s award winning wines are crafted by their head winemaker, Kelly Urbanik, one of the few female winemakers on the North Fork. She works in association with consultants Helmut Gangl, from the Burgenland area of Austria and Robert Foley of California.

After studying business at the University of Hartford and obtaining two degrees, Jason received a third degree in enology at the University of California at Fresno acquiring high honors and accolades for his work. Continuing his studies, he attended the University of Bordeaux—a Mecca for wine academics—and worked in renowned regions like Medoc, Premiere Cote de Bordeaux, Loupiac and Cadiallac. With an education like this, high quality vines were inevitably in Jason’s future. Very little space between the rows promises superior fruit, the Long Island vineyard flourishes with the finest French clones: chardonnay, merlot and cabernet.

Ron and Ann Marie Goerler came to the North Fork over 30 years ago and planted their first Chardonnay vines in 1981. Ron Sr. was a leading pioneer for the Long Island wine industry. It was his vision about the area that has made the wines what they are today. Their approach is still the same now as it was then—leave the land in better shape than when they found it. The Goerlers believe in sustainable approaches with their vineyards, as well as their wines. Today they use integrated pest management (IPM) practices which help them use less fertilizers, fungicides, and herbicides. It is a direct reflection on the quality of the wines produced at Jamesport Vineyards.

For over 12 generations the Harbes Family has been tilling the fertile soils of Long Island. Their ability to find new ways to use agricultural resources has helped them thrive in a rapidly changing world. Although better known for super-sweet corn and family events such as the Fall Pumpkin Festival and Sunday Fun Days, the Harbes family began a promising venture with wine in 2003.

In 2003 the vineyard was planted on a boulder-strewn, south-facing hill near the coast of the Long Island Sound. On the surface is fine sandy loam, but underneath is a layer of rocks and silt, ideal for producing the finest vinifera on Long Island. Meticulous research of the finest vinifera clones of Chardonnay and Merlot resulted in a carefully chosen selection of outstanding French clones that were planted to produce the most aromatic and flavorful wine.

With the careful attention of vineyard manager Edward Harbes IV and the expertise of winemaker Kareem Massoud of Paumanok Vineyards, the vines are producing among the most promising wines on the North Fork. The Harbes Family strives to capture the best of farm and family and welcomes you to enjoy the fruits of their labor.

With 4 acres of planted vines on Manor Lane in Jamesport, Diliberto Winery is certainly one of the smallest wineries on the East End of Long Island. Nevertheless, their initial entry into the world of wine competition met with startling success: the three wines they submitted to the New York Wine & Food Classic in August 2004 were each awarded a Gold Medal. This amazing result was improved upon in 2005 when their 2003 Merlot was named “Best Merlot” at the New York Wine & Food Classic. Both Sal and Maryann Diliberto, coowners of the winery, have a passion for wine and the role that it can play in life. Their new tasting room, which opened in June 2007, reflects not only their passion for the enjoyment of wine, but a deep pride in their Italian heritage. Tasting room guests are served their tastings at bistro tables and can enjoy the interior “piazza” the Dilibertos have created, or they can sit on the patio and get pleasure from the views of the perfectly manicured vineyard.

Croteaux Vineyards- Rosé on Purpose! The only vineyard in the United States dedicated exclusively to making dry, fresh, fruity, fun to drink Rosé wines styled after those made for centuries in the South of France. Located in Southold, on an historic farm, we make wines that embody the horticulture, terrior, and seaside lifestyle of the beautiful wine region in which we live. Rosés are made with estate-grown Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Sauvignon Blanc offering something for everyone including light, full-bodied, and sparkling wines. Our tasting barn/garden, where you can taste and purchase our wines, is a well-designed intimate setting overlooking the vineyards. This is a place that truly reflects life on the North Fork. We welcome groups of eight or less, and we cannot accommodate limos, buses, or hired vehicles. We ask that you enjoy lunch at one of the many wonderful local restaurants, or picnic at the nearby beach. Croteaux wines sell out each year, so our tasting room is open seasonally from April and closed in the winter.

The high elevation of the tasting room gives visitors spectacular views both inside and out overlooking the vineyard. It is the perfect setting to enjoy our wine and experience the North Fork. Corey Creek is renowned for its distinctive Reserve Chardonnay and Gewürztraminer, both won the “Best in New York State” distinction for 2006.

Corey Creek has been owned since 1999 by Michael Lynne, an esteemed art collector and film executive who produced The Lord of the Rings trilogy among many others, and is led by 30-year veteran Winemaker Rich Olsen-Harbich, who wrote the North Fork of Long Island appellation into existence in 1986.

Our wines are made from grapes that we grow ourselves on three vineyard sites totaling approximately 80 planted acres: Bedell Home Vineyard on the Main Road in Cutchogue behind our winery and tasting room; Corey Creek Vineyards on Main Road in Southold, adjacent to the Corey Creek tasting room; and Wells Road Vineyard on Main Road in Peconic.

Channing Daughters Winery prides itself on artisanal experimentation. The foremost commitment at Channing Daughters is the care of the grapevines and the quality of wine in the bottle. From intense and careful culture of their vines to the hand-picking of all grapes, gentle whole cluster-pressing of white grapes, stomping by foot with punch down by hand of red grapes, and gravity bottling, their methods remain traditional and artisanal. Channing Daughters produces wines within all three Long Island AVAs and specializes in white varietals and blends. The winery is located in Bridgehampton and is situated on 28 acres of grapes, some of which date back to 1982. Approximately 55% of estate grapes are currently used in the winemaking, while the other 45% is sourced from special sites and special people on the North Fork. The important partnership between Channing Daughters and viticulturist Steve Mudd enables access to North Fork vineyards dating back to 1975. Channing Daughters relishes the joys of agriculture, science and art that collectively go into winemaking. Channing Daughters Winery is interested in continually pushing the boundaries of what is possible in their vineyards, their cellar and their region.

The Borgheses agree with the age-old winemaker’s wisdom, “a good wine is first made in the field,” so they tend to their soil with great care. Pinot Noir and Sauvignon Blanc are their signature wines, along with many other award winners including Meritage and Chardonnay. As Marco Borghese, winemaker, chef and co-owner, crafts his elegant wines, he stays mindful of the sophisticated wine and food pairings created by his wife and co-owner Ann Marie Borghese. The terra cotta gallery is typically filled with interesting art, people and food samplings. Old World Tuscany awaits your arrival at the Borghese Vineyard – Castello di Borghese.

The Beauty of Blends™

Our wines are a pleasure for all the senses – the eye, the nose, and of course, the taste buds. We blend wines to produce an appealing diversity of perfumes and flavors and intriguing wines. Some grapes enhance a wine’s structure—the balance and sequence of flavors in the mouth— while others impart body and roundness. We take care to select the right varietals, harvested at the right levels of ripeness. For our winemaker consultant, Gilles Martin, blending is an art—an act of expression and creation. The result: wines with personality and verse.

We offer a full palette of wines, from appetizers to main courses to desserts – lightly effervescent, white, rosé (dry), rosé (off-dry), red, cabernet franc, white dessert (VdN) and red dessert (VdN).

A lifelong farmer and naturalist, he began to till the soil, the basis for all great wines, using only organic compost and other natural ingredients.

On his first 3 1/2 acres, Sam planted fine French vines and continued to plant after he purchased an additional 13 1/2 acres. By this time, his son Richard, a successful business entrepreneur, knew that his father needed help. And so, he stepped in with a sound business plan and a talented team to oversee and supervise wine making production and vineyard management. This approach, the acquisition of fine French vines, the rather hospitable climate of the region, along with their vision and hard work, remain the foundation for BHFV’s rather exceptional wine.

When visiting wine country along the North Fork of Long Island, BHFV is the first vineyard you will see on Sound Avenue, conveniently located just east of Edwards Avenue. The warm family-like atmosphere, a Rubin family trait, and the bucolic setting make it an ideal place for quick day trips for the entire family, catered parties and other events.
